Matrix new HD technology allows for new levels of structural strength. With the stiff 16-cut butt section, Matrix designers realized a better structure and realized a strong tip section while avoided adding overall weight, and even when balance points were lowered, this led to better match high MOI, low CG heads. Consequently a stronger tip-strength-to-weight ratio was obtained compared to any prior Matrix shafts.
The internal Matrix HD structure was designed to be more consistently uniform than a common circular design, further minimizing the need for exact orientation during setting up.
Matrix “HD” performance, will result in flatter, sharper Tour-type ball flights and a more stable, confident feeling.
Graphite shaft engineers have always been using imported approaches from other engineering disciplines.  These traditional approaches, such as “EI Curve,” are derived from zonal frequency, deflection, or 3-point bending and have critical restrictions -- they have restricted predictive powers and do not measure a shaft’s overall length.  To go beyond traditional beam theory, Matrix uses an exclusive Deformation of Energy Analysis to draw a Deformation of Energy Curve.

DE Analysis, the Matrix technique for evaluating how shaft construction affects performance, shows that energy that should be released to the clubhead and ball can be decreased and lost through flaws in the shaft’s design.  With these energy loss causes found, Matrix Shafts can be engineered with reduced or eliminated causes of instability.  Less energy loss causes and more effective energy transfer leads to a highly stable impact position and more energy to the ball.
